Hey all. I am a poor college student and still have my original Klipsch 4.1's Currently I am only using them as a 2.1 setup as my cheap ass has the other 2 speaks in the living room of my apt as rear speakers for the television. When I am gaming or watching movies at night I like to use my headphones as to not piss off the neighbors but these old speakers do not have a headphone jack. I am gonna try to "mod" my own headphone jack in there so I wont have to keep gettin to the rear of the comptuer and swappin out the jacks needed for each setup. Has anyone tried this? No matter what I figure it would be a fun project but just wanted to get some opinions and see if anyone has ever attempted anything and what I should look out for. I am hopin it will make things much easier for me and even able to control headphone volume from the Klipsch speaker mounted module instead of alt-tabbing or esc outta games.
 
as for controling the volume prob wont be able to happen... get a Y cable and hook it up to your sound card and hook up both devices to it.... odds are you wont be able to find the line level output (what you would hook your headphones up to) in your speaker/amp... odds are its one big board with the amp and processor all in one... if you hook up your cans to a speaker output you will blow your cans....
