My Asus P5WD2 Premium is up and running with:
2 74GB Raptors in RAID0
1 120GB WesternDigital Sata drive
1 Sata DVD burner
2 Western Digital IDE drives
1 IDE optical drive

When I try to add a 250GB SATAII WesternDigital the system ignores the RAID and tries to boot from the new SATAII drive.
Why is it trying to do that????
How can I make it boot from the RAID with the new drive plugged in?

When I goto BIOS and look at the boot order, the RAID volume is not even available - Even though it is enabled in IDE Configuration (Onboard Sata Boot-Rom is too).

Well, there are two SATA controllers on the board, the Intel ICH7R, and what smells like the Promise 20326. Can you adjust a hard disk boot priority? Also, what drives are connected to what controllers?

The RAID0 volume is Sata 1 and 2
The 120GB SATA is Sata 3
I'm trying to add the 250GB SATA on Sata 4 and those are all on the ICH7 controller

The SATA burner is on the Silicon Image controller

The IDE hard drives are on the ITE IDE controller on the primary IDE connection

The IDE optical drive is on the ICH7 Primary IDE connector

Hard disk boot priority doesn't even list the RAID if the new Sata drive is connected. The only way I can get it to work is to plug it in after the machine has booted.

Is there an active partition on the new drive? SATA host BIOS up to date? Mobo BIOS up to date?

I formatted and partitioned it with DiskManager, the BIOS and all drivers are all the most recent as it is a brand new build and I got them from the website.

I even put a bunch of data on the drive to see if that would make a difference. Still wants to be the boot drive.
Is it because it is a SATA II drive?
