Added SATA Drive not "Seen"

Okay, have an "established" system based on the NF7-S rev2 that has XP w/SP2 running with an 80 & 160 IDE Maxtor D'max 9. Just added a Maxtor 160 SATA and at boot up it shows it after asking if want to set up RAID. Went into add new hardware and it can't be found.

After in windows, the system does not "see" or "show" the drive anywhere. Tried loading the drives off of the floppy provided, but windows tells me it doesn't know how. I am "software deficient" and could use all the help I can. The HDD is not formatted, but can't do that until it is recognized.

SATA drives are "Enabled" in the bios.

Okay, maybe this is the problem > the drive is not formatted. If someone agrees how would I format the drive without having to do a reinstall of the OS?

Start>My Computer (right click)>Manage>Disk Management
Your drive will be there, shown as "unallocated space".
Right click and create a partition(s), then format.

Viola!

It shows C: (80 IDE); Drive 1 (160 IDE) New Volume D: & G: both NTFS; Drive 2 (160 SATA) Unallocated.

When I right click on Drive 2 the only options that appear are >> Convert to Dynamic Disk, Properties, & Help

So what am I missing to format the disk?

Right click on the partitioning place over to the right. Then it'll have an option to create and format a partition.

It does help to "click" in the right place!! Thanks for the help guys, we have lift off!!
