Okay- so- I'm wanting to start out with 2x 300gb drives on a 4x PCI to SATA raid controller in RAID0...

If I start out with 2 drives-- can I simply add a 3rd and then 4th drive to it later? Or will I have to format the whole RAID to add them?

If you spend a lot more (on a Highpoint 2220 or 2320) you can get that expanding capability, and raid 5, and 8 ports, and pci-x. It's about $250. I haven't seen an el-cheapo card that does expansion.

I just hope you aren't storing anything you cant easily lose on that RAID0.
