Considering you can buy DD-WRT flashable routers and bridge them to an existing wireless network connecting up to 4 or 5 devices for $30 these days, can anyone think of any good reasons to buy a $20-30 single machine USB or PCI wireless adapter instead? How do you think performance compares between the two options?

Valid point, although any box I'd be hardwiring into a bridge with ethernet is also going to need a power outlet nearby too. Any performance thoughts?
