AD900 Wireless Alternative

I'm looking for a wireless headphone alternative for my AD900.

1st - Comfort
2nd - Sound Quality
3rd - Price
4th - Prefer Opens
5th - Range (PC is 10 feet away)

I don't mind if the alternate is a headset. I also don't mind if it's a slight downgrade.
 
I can't speak for quality, but check out the Astro Mixamp 5.8. Make the AD900s wireless
 
Aah. So far the 170 and 180 are being suggested as the wireless alternative for my 900s. Any other brands or headphones?

If you would consider IEMs, Sleek Audio has a pretty neat wireless setup. I used the wireless SA6 set for about 2 weeks but the transmitter was a little flaky. I now use the RS180s.
 
Not a fan of IEMs since they always fall off without clips.

Someone over FS/FT suggested the A50. Not sure if that's what I'm looking for.
 
You laugh, but I fixed my uncomfortable headphones to make them very comfortable with some random foam I had lying around about 2 feet of electrical tape :p
 
Any other suggestions? Would going wireless have a lot of disadvantages as far as quality is concerned? I'm not a hardcore audiophile but I can tell the difference between a $100 and $300.
 
the RS170s are oK at best, I picked up a set of 180s used for $160+ shipping, good sound stage, comfortable, good range and great SQ.
 
Whatever. Fuck it. RS180 it is. Hopefully there isn't much of a change.

I wish I could force myself into buying used cans. But I'm pretty anal about used stuff when it comes to mice, keyboards, headphones, and mics. T_T
 
Got my new RS180s. Sounded like crap first, kinda like my old Steelseries Siberias. BUT...oh shit son, adjust your settings.

SUDDENLY. Heaven.

So if you are in this price range, it's a little more expensive than the AD900s but worth it.

First song I played was...RANDY NEWMAN - SHORT PEOPLE. JOY JOY JOY.

What settings did you have to adjust? I use them for watching movies so I just plug them into my AVR without any adjustments :p.

Set it to -8db on the transmitter and make sure to disable the normalizer too.
 
EQ, CMSS-3D, Crystalizer, EAX effects, Bass Boost/Cutoff. I mostly listen to Jazz and now Diana Krall sounds like Diana Krall.

I have different settings when I'm just listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game where positioning matters.

I see, I use it mainly for movies, so I didn't notice anything =)
 
Well CMSS-3D and EAX are used for gaming (positional effects) and will make music sound like crap, opinions are probably split on Crystalizer, the rest would just tweak the general sound signature... I imagine he turned the first few off and messed around a bit with the low end.
