Keep getting a popup on my screen saying that some source of a Java thing cannot be verified. Only happing here and it doesn't happen all the time. I'll get a screenshot next time it happens.

edit
I can kill Java.exe in my task manager and as soon as I visit any hardforum page, this pops back up and java starts running again. Does not happen on any other web pages.

It does not seem to happen on the main hardocp.com pages either, or at laest not yet.

Same. Kyle, Dan, kill your advertising partners please. We will accept nothing less than full on genocide.

Was happening to me to, it would crash every single browser. Was very annoying, i blocked the ip address 85.17.159.75 thru 85.17.159.85 in peerblock thanks to gn0mes's screenshot. That did the trick, but wow...never thought i'd experience that kinda intrustion from malicious advertisement from [H]forum....

Yup, just started happening over here. Not sure if it is happening on other forums that I frequent. Turned off flash and javascript and I'm still getting it whenever I visit a forum page.

Kyle got it. The attack was hardcoded into the HTML served to us. Not through a malicious ad. WTF!

Yey, that was fast, good job guys!

In this round IE CLEARLY beat the other browsers, it was the only one that EXPLICITLY said that this was compromised, that's the best kind of security.

Alright fanboy ;). IE wins this time. But that is a good point. FF said absolutely nothing about it.

I got the pop up as well but I was using FF. I think mine came thru Windows Security Essentials though. I clicked RUN because I saw Java and that its icon had popped up on my task bar so I assumed it was a Java update or something. Running a security scan now to see if it did anything.

Nothing to do with ads. Found it, fixed it. Will keep an eye on it

Do you guys know if my work's web filtering service will forgive [H] for having once being detected as malicious? (Websense)

I can get to individual posts and use search/user cp/"New Posts" but clicking on any subforum yields a website is blocked kind of message.

Please forgive [H] Websense!

No, being a FAIRboy.;) If IE had blown it and Lord knows that's happened PLENTY we'd see a bazillion posts like "IE SUX FF FTW!!!" IE in its current form simply isn't as bad as that. I'm not saying that this is a reason to switch browsers and I certainly didn't flame other browsers and platforms, I simply pointed out the rational truth. I wish more people could do the same and look beyond their personal biases. I've got plenty of biases but I try to look past at least every now and then.

As soon as I saw this I tried FF and Chrome and I hope that if FF or Chrome had handled this better I would have reported as such.:)

Same here.
btw, do not go to the ++++++++++s.com website. It's some kind of obnoxious lycos page.

I have the Web Developer add-on for FF installed, disabled Java with this, but I still get the Java prompt. This trojan is like herpes virus.
