Yes, your system did and yes I do run it. In this day and age of Governments spying, hacked data centers and stolen Identities. I was taken back a bit when I first had your message pop up in the middle of my screen recently while visiting your site on my morning news crawl. It is my personal opinion that this slight invasion of privacy goes a little to far. Yes, I do understand that your Advertisers pay for the site and allow you to keep the content free but still if you find this type of script acceptable will the next one also be and when will it stop?

BUT! since I am a fan of the site and have been on it for awhile. I believe I owe you an explanation. The reason I'm running the ad block software is not because I hate ads. I understand these are needed. It is simply My current computer can not handle flash or script ads as these now turn a simple browsing session into a slide show. My current financial situation is not healthy, nor has been for a bit now. As the hardware has gotten old or failed. I've had to replace it with older items left over from past upgrades. Try to imagine surfing anything on only 500 megs of ram and a 40 gig hhd...The horror.. So as I doubt the new computer fairy will drop a newer system on my doorstep anytime soon or the parts to build one. I've had to resort to adding ad blockers and script blockers. If the situation does change. I will be more than happy to whitepage the entire Hardocp.com site and forums. Please do understand. Yes it does make me feel like a parasite but right now this is the best I can do. Thanks and have a good day.
 
Im sorry revenue is down, but im not allowing you unfettered access to run ads on my machine. Further, enough with the Hover hound shit. It is INCREDIBLY annoying. I dont want to do use your comparisons and feed you affiliate links. I have been comparing prices in my head since 1998, i dont need Hoverhound. the reason we use ad block is because of crap like this, a constantly encroaching experience. Finally, i dont trust ad networks, they are the scum of the earth. Unless you can prove that you yourselves are serving only vetted ads directly from your server network i will continue to block ads on your site. I may trust you, i dont trust 3rd party ads.
