Is active cooling on the Northbridge really important or is a heatsink enough? Mine with h/s and 600MHz o/c gets "pretty warm" but it's not too hot too touch. I have a 92mm side case fan which has pretty good airflow over the mb and northbridge area. How much can a hot northbridge limit a overclock and should I get a fan?

Active Northbridge Cooling?

If your at a limit with your o'c'ing adventures and the cpu temp is fine aswell as ram then the northbridge might be the problem. But if not, ' pretty warm' is hardly anything to worry about, though it can't not help to put a fan on it heh. On the p4's it was more of a neccesity but with your airflow from the side panel it should be ok. You could take it off and put AS5 then put it back on to help it a bit though

a case fan blowing on the area should be enough.
