I am using a XFX Radeon HD 5850 graphics card. I registered my product with XFX and downloaded the XFX MultiDisplay guide, but still I`m having trouble activating my 2nd display.
My primary display is a 25" and my 2nd display is a 19".
I dont want to run them side by side, but just as 1 monitor (25") with the 19" as a secondary monitor showing other opened programs.
When I bring up the Catalyst control center I click on the graphics tab and click on desktops and displays. On the bottom of the page it shows my 2 displays. But here is where my confusion is.
The guide says "Click on the desired display from the available displays in bottom panel. From the menu, select `Extend`, `Duplicate` or `Replace`".
I dont get these options when I click on either display on the bottom of the page. And so far have been unsecsessful at adding my second monitor.
I was able to use both monitors with my last NVidea card. Shouldnt be that hard to do with an ATI card.
My 25" monitor is hooked into the HDMI connection on my card and my 19" monitor is connected with one of the DVI ports.
Right now as default, without adjusting anything, my second monitor is working with the card, but is a mirror display of my primary monitor.
Can this card do what im asking for it to do? Because from the sound of it... extend, duplicate or replace doesnt sound like what im wanting the second monitor to do.
