Action cam as Dashcam?

I'm looking for an action camera that can double as a dashcam. Why? Because all the dashcams I've seen are really flimsy and have terrible picture quality. But an action cam is really inconvenient as a dashcam if it doesn't have autostart function and loop recording.

Is there such a thing? Or is this a huge market hole?

I've looked at numerous dashcams and they are low quality garbage each and every one of them. The overpriced ones aren't any better either just come with features like gps,but they're still built from the same low-end junk components.
