Hey, I wanted to know if anyone knew where side windows to computer cases were sold. So far, I haven't found anywhere. Through the course of events, my clear side-panel has become pretty damn scratched up and it's bothering me I want it to be smooth again! Please, any links would be great!
 
And if you want to replace your window, don't just get plain ol' plexiglas......get a nice custom engraved window!!! :cool:

DIY ;) Home Depot sells some stuff for pretty cheap in different sized sheets.
different thickness'es as well (that sounds funny i know. but im tired.)

If you have a dremel or a drill and a jig saw, go with the plexi from homedepot.
it is fairly simple to set up, just tape it down (from the inside) and on the outside
(leaving the protective film on.. if none use some tape) and mark where you need
to drill the holes for the rivets and screws, then dremel/saw out the middle hole..

since you have the metal design on the door you can make the circle a little larger
then the metal hole and it will also serve to cover any "boo-boos" you have when
sawing it ;)
 
Glass panels out of flatbed scanners are good for windows. They dont scratch as easily as plexiglass.
 
Now thats [H]ard. An actual glass window in your case. lol Thats got to be tough to drill through.
 
lol, it is, well...actually you dont drill through it. me and my friend were f****** around one day and decided to see if we could drill a clean hole in a bawls bottle the he was thinking about using as a resivoir when he builds his compy. the first one we tried to drill by starting out with a small size and working our way to larger sized bits (we had safety glasses on dont worry, i may be crazy but im not stupid) well the bottle shattered. So we tried "sanding" holes in it with a grinding bit and dremel, it worked out great but took about 15 mins. to get to the right width. :p
 
You could even [H]ard wire the scanner bulb into the case too and have a blindingly light CCFL style light.

Haha, that's great :) I was looking somewhere yesterday, and I saw a header for "scratchless plexiglass" I think xoxide.com or something, I'll search again. Scratchless would be nice!
