I've got a Maxtor 4D060H3 in my system, 60 Gig ATA100.

SiSandra is telling me that it has Acoustic Management enabled, and that disabling it will improve my performance.

The question is, can disable it, I know its not a jumper setting, but can it be disabled in MaxBlast or PowerMax?

I'll be honest with you, I'd rather know instead of just downloading and playing with it...cause I don't want to end up clean sweeping my harddrive like an idiot.

Acoustial Management is usually something that can be turned on and off my specifc software from the drive manufacturor. I haven't done it on a Maxtor, I'd go to their website and see what diag/management software they have, that's what will usually do it.
