so, i need a notebook.

i have been searching quite a bit, and i am not afraid to spend a little money, as this will also be my desktop replacement.

Keep in mind, the prices are in canadian funds.

Notebook

$2500 CAD

- Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology
- Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2500
- 2GB DDR2 667 SDRAM
- 120GB SATA hard drive, 5400RPM
- Modular Super-Multi (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RAM) drive
- 5-in-1 card reader
- 15.4" WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050) TFT display
- ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1600 graphics, 256MB DDR
- 802.11a/b/g WLAN
- Bluetooth™, gigabit LAN, V.92 modem
- Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional
- Acer® Video Conference

the only thing i am concerned about is the x1600. is this going to be super low end in a little while, or am i going to get a good year or so out of it?

-and- are there any laptops with a 7800 go and similar specs, avaliable in canada, under 3000 CAD?

i believe with the x1600 theres 256 mb dedicated and then you can have the option of putting 128 shared..so total 386 which is also a nice edition

but if you want one with a core duo + 7800 go ... id go with the dell they got one.

wow, that would be awesome if the shared memory is possible. i dont even know what i would do with 2 gigs of ram

but, i have $600 left until i can buy that doozie.
