ive been reading, and reading these forums but never really post because i never really have a clue.
but i research to learn,


i would love a 24" LCD but i dont want a panel that is having issues, i will wait until the manufactureres come out with something better than whats out now.

i like the Dell 24 and the upcoming benq 24.


so until i can get some research that shows me 24" is worth the money ill get a 22"

i narrowed it down from the DELL 2007WFP or the ACER AL2216Wbd


ive read some good and bad about the Dell. but i really cant find much on the Acer.

anyone have the Acer and can tell me about its performance,
im mainly a casual gamer, surf the net and goof around.

i have EVGA 7950 , amd x2 4200+ and 2 gig corsair XMS ram.

right now my monitor is about 6 years old. its a Philips Brilliance 180p that served me well. but now i want to move into Widescreen. 24 would be great but not with the minor annoyances for now. so 22" will have to suffice for me.

any advice on 22" or more about the Acer 2216 would be greatly appreciated
 
There are some people on this forum who have the Acer 22" and seem to be pleased with it. However you should know that most of the new 22" panels (except maybe for Samsung) use a TN panel whereas the 2007WFP uses either an S-IPS or PVA panel. See the "technology breakdown" sticky at the top of this forum for the differences in technology.
 
There has also been some debate about whether these 22" panels are TN or P-MVA. I have 2 dead pixels on my Acer 22" and they are white (ie TN) not black (would be P-MVA)

Hope that settles it :D
 
I just got one of the Acers today from the egg. So far I am really pleased with it. I haven't tried any games with it yet, but I played some HD videos on it and they look outstanding (no ghosting at all). There is so much real estate on this monitor...I wasn't quite ready for how big it actually is. Desktop work looks really good also.
