I cant remember what thread I saw it in but someone posted a link to help kill ememies a little faster. Anyone know where this can be found.

the official 1.00000000001 patch will do that, but it will erase your savegames.

I like how Stalker has the most accurately-modelled ballistics of any game yet people keep releasing mods intended to tweak the gun "accuracy" or "damage" and things like that.

Once you get further in the game the guns get alot better, I dont think anything needs fixing to be honest.

Precisely. A feeling of achievement and that, sort of lends a sensation of progression rather than just tearing in and being the best of the bunch from the outset.

Yeah! I too was a bit frustrated at first and I even thought of quiting the game completely. But as I progressed, so did the guns I picked up. At this point (having already reached one of the endings), I can kill everyone with one shot, as long as it's in the head of course :)

What weapons do you consider are of this caliber? I just started and am using a Viper 5. Not bad but takes a bit to kill with.

Once I found the fast firing AK, and then added a scope, I never had any problems with accuracy. You do get this weapon very early on in the game.

The G36 (called a GP-25 in game, I think) and the FN2000 are one-shotters, and very easy to out-snipe people using Gauss guns - or just about anyone - with. As soon as you hit the Bar area you start getting good weapons based on the LR300's and HK G3's, and from there things start getting proportionately easier.

Still not found anything to match my long-barrelled over/under Winchester, though. That thing's beastly.

I need to find that gun, may i ask what area its in?

I don't understand the gun complaints. I've played half this game with pistols. You just have to take your time to aim and pick your shots. The other cool part of it is that you have to lead the target if it's moving. I just practiced on a bunch of dogs. The only stipulation is that you have to advance on your target. Get close to them, don't just take cover.

I just bought Stalker but I havent installed the game yet. I have seen gameplay videos where the enemies were taking repeated headshots and not dropping. If I want the game to be really really hard then I would turn up the difficulty level. I play games to relieve stress not cause more stress. :D

I've never been able to find it, so I got one of the trader mods just to try it. It's good fun.

Links, please? I'd be interested to see this.
Bear in mind some suits come with head protection.

I dont remember where. I just remember watching videos and thinking damn these guys are hard to kill. I know Im not crazy because a lot of people were complaining even in some game reviews. Thats also one of the reasons the realisim patch was made.

If you're wearing a helmet, the purpose is to add protection. Same goes for the suits in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. A lot of them have head protection. I have no issues getting a 1 shot head kill on the beginning area bandits and such as long as I'm close and they aren't wearing anything better than the normal Bandit Jacket. (Beat the game now, and got the Trader mod. mmm, Gauss Gun...)

I see no issue with accuracy, honestly. You just have to get better weapons. Once you get the TRS301, you're in a new league of accuracy, IMO.

When I play killing them isnt the problem, its how quick they kill me, first I get new armour, but it degrades so quick its worthless after a couple of shots.

And as someone says the helmets aint there for show, they actually do make it more difficult to kill someone, but a concentration of 5-10 shots in the head does the trick lol

Once you get the fast firing ak and the scope, it gets easier. Theres also a hidden stalker armor. So I now have two incase one degrades. Getting the artifacts that increase health and or bullet cap helps to. Theres one that adds 5% to bullet cap and has no negatives.

The shotguns in STALKER are pretty weak unless youre up close.

I got a sniper rifle off a dead guy in Pripyat that is silenced, that essentially allowed me to own the rest of the game....

before that the trs301 scoped was the most effective or the GS model that the Freedom guys use.

I think the game is very fair and has great ballistic models.

Honestly, give the game a chance without mods for crying out loud.

Once you get the G36 type assault rifles with scopes built in, and sniper rifles, one hit kills with well aimed headshots are possible at quite large ranges, you just start off with more crude weapons.

Early on in the game, duck, put the weapon in single fire mode, and take potshots, not all will hit, if you can't consistently hit then you're too far away and have to close the gap between you by using cover.

The G36 I have and use quite often, Damn fine gun. Its the Shotty that i am looking for.

If you are looking for the over/under shotgun, there might be more than one place for it, but I only know of one.

I'm not going to spoil the fun...but I will give a hint

Was I the only one who completely stopped work in order to figure out the code?

It is on one of the characters you run into before you go into X-18

The game has bullet drop, and guns vary widely in accuracy and damage. Properly done, headshots are one-shot kills, but you could also fail to kill if you are trying for a headshot but using a very weak/short-range gun or not aiming right. If you're pointing right at a guy's face, but he's 400 yards away, your bullet won't be hitting him in the head; it will hit his upper chest or shoulders.

Heh, sorry. I always try to ROT13 this kind of thing so I don't blow it for someone.
