hi all,
i have been having abit of an issue recently with my system and split second hitching\stuttering. iam not quite sure what is the cause of it so i thought i would post up here and see what others thought.
SYSTEM:
asus a8n32 sli
8800 gtx
2 gigs running 3.4.4.10 ,each stick at 250mhz
two western digital ide hdd's. both cavier one 20 gig the other 250. hdd on on the primary ide bus ad hdd two on the secondary. swap file is on the second drive
amd 4800 x2. new drivers and optimizer installed as well as the ms hotfix.
pc power and cool 1k psu
PROBLEM SYMPTOMS:
all games have fantastic fps but whenever it has to load more things into memory i get a small hitch. in older games this is fine but in newer games such as tomb raider legend and oblivion where it loads constantly (streams) or load big chunks of data it is a major problem. i even get it in half life 2, normally as the game loads the next set of npc's or enemy's.
i an attempt to solve this i have just ordered a new western digital raptor drive to see if it will improve or solve this issue all together. my hdd's right now are only about a year old, so i dont think its a hdd failure problem. even after a complete os install problem the problem still egisits. i really have no clue.
