I just got a 24" Benq G2420HDBL screen.
I thought one of the benefits of LED LCD was that it takes away or at least limits the risk of backlight bleeding.
when starting it up I noticed that it bleeds from the left, top and bottom. My experiences in monitors is very limited. I dont know if this is normal for a TN screen and acceptable. pictures taken in the dark. obviously the screen isnt blue normally but it does show the difference in lightning. Ive played around a little with options but the only time blacks get a little bit darker is in ECO mode, but thats a mode unacceptable in other ways. I've used the 'game' and 'movie' modes for the time being...

Is this level of backlight bleeding acceptable? would you stick with it or return it? is there anything I can do without returning it? is this fixable by adjusting it more?

Thanks for your input. It also has one tiny dead pixel at the very top of the right side of the screen thats almost unnoticable.

I know pics make bleeding look bad but damn, that is REALLY bad.

As i'm sure you've already figured out, no amount of adjusting will make that backlightbleed look ok.

Don't doubt your hunch on this one, return that sucker asap.

no offense but did you really have to ask if it was acceptable. Hell no that is Horrible

That backlight bleed makes my old TN look like a PVA in terms of bleed. Return it. :p

I've just bought the same monitor and the backlight bleed/uniformity is just as bad, if not worse and I also have a dead pixel. It's shameful that they can get away with selling such poor monitors.

Because the average shopper doesn't know better. That's why.

They don't have to get away with it, and you don't have to put up with it.

Return it, or exchange it. Sure it's an inconvenience, but it's better than the alternative: keeping it and letting it frustrate you ;)

God thats awful. When you take it back or send it back make sure you tell them it sucks lol.
