Installation was a bitch, but pretty straight forward. Took me about fourty minutes. I used to idle around 45C, now it idles at 39C. It's also definitely A LOT quieter than stock.

looks awesome! what are your load temps with furmark?

also by the looks of it, its taking 3 slots correct?

Thanks for the photo's. The 'Accelero Xtreme Pro' is definitely an improvement over the previous version.

In fact, not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but just for comparison and reference (and because I've finally decided to sign up to Imageshack and learn how to include photo's in forum replies), here are some pictures of the old 'Accelero Xtreme GTX280' hacked to fit a Zotac GTX285.

Here's the stock cooler, and Accelero heatsinks that clearly don't fit properly or at all. Notice on the right there was nothing on the stock cooler to cool (what I think are) the voltage regulators, and the blue plate that came with the old Accelero obviously wasn't meant for use on a GTX285 .

Section cut with a pair of scissors to make room for an obstruction on the board (one of the output plugs IIRC), might just be a Zotac thing.

Just a shot to show the residue from the stock thermal gunk being removed from the RAM. The chips on the left are clean and the ones on the right aren't. You can see the difference most clearly on the top row where one of the chips is only half cleaned.

Everything attached after being hack-sawed to bits. Ya gotta laugh.

Just thought I'd throw this one in. It shows how the bracket legs that attach to the board are different to the new version (angled instead of straight). With the old version, you have to lever off that metal plate which sits directly around the main GPU, or the main heatsink doesn't make direct contact with the GPU. You can see in the picture that there's a clear gap between them. Luckily I didn't fry my card before figuring that out. Also in this picture you can see a bit of a profile view of the full-length back-plate that's no longer used on the new 'Accelero Pro', and which I just left off anyway as it was worse than useless.

So, yeah, there you go. Someone might find it useful or interesting to see the differences. And BTW, now that I know how to upload and link to images, I also know it's a pain in the arse. I never was one to call for pics from others anyway, but now I know why. Maybe it gets easier with practice.

Les.
