AC Power Tray Icon will not turn off

Anyone ever had this problem: The AC Power tray icon keeps coming back when I disabled the tray icon on my Core 2 Duo with an Asus P5b-deluxe. Any ideas?
 
Have you restarted and allowed explorer.exe to save your settings?

Also you might want to look up the registry setting for it and possibly set it manually through the registry.
 
Yeah I restarted the computer. I am not sure why it is not saving the setting. I tried to serach through the registry to find out if there is a place where I can turn this thing on and off. I am aware of the command line utility that I can use...however I rather just turn it off than right a windows script to do that at log-in. There is no reason this should be working this way... never ran into the problems. Being an admin for a major university, this is very rare.
