For the same AMD 64 X2 4200, ASUS M2N32 board, 550W Antec power supply, 2gb Corsair DDR2 800 ram, Nvidia 7900GT, 320gb seagate 7200rpm(ABSPC), 250gb western dig 7200rpm(Velocity Micro). The ABSPC is $367 less than the Velocity Micro and it comes with 5.1 Logitech speakers. Is there a reason to pay the nearly $400 premium for the Velocity system? I can add viewsonic vx922 and still come in $75 less than the Velocity. Thanks for any input...

If that's really the case i would get the ABS unless they can match the deal, or come close.

Personally, I would spend the extra and go with VM. Customer service-wise before, during and after the sale, I've not had the wonderful support with any other company for anything I've bought. That, along with reviews here, led me to purchase a very nice Gamers 1000. I really like the way the "guts" of the computer are set up. Everything is accessible and upgreadeable (not that I'd do it, but it shouldn't be hard to do by someone who knows what they're doing), the wiring is amazing - the case almost looks empty it's done so carefully.

Try doing a search here for both ABS and Velocity. You could also take a look at the ABS forum and give both companies a call with the type of computer you're looking to get.

Me? I would never buy an ABS just based on some of the posts here and even on their own forum about service and support runarounds.

Another happy VM fan here, although I've had a positive experience with Newegg, too. It's just that ABS outsources tech support to a third party that is never available to answer or return calls.

We've got an ABS article coming up from Tim Roper.

In it, we talk about how ABS has dumped 2Net and now does their own tech support. You can read all about it next week :).

VM would definitely be the safe way to go for now. ABS formerly had super high marks from just about everyone, but 2net really brought them down a few notches. You had to really be proactive to get proper support with them. As far as wiring jobs go ABS does a pretty good job normally. In my opinion having all wires ultimately hid is not really the best way to do a consumer wiring job, because when/if you upgrade you have to unravel and re-duplicate (you don't have to but you feel compelled too) an over-the-top wiring job. If your in your case alot what you want is a wiring job that's both neat but also setup so that you can change out mobos/drives easily. Of course this i just an opinion on my part. Alot of people like having a totally clean look even if it means a total mess both under the mobo and behind the side panels with cables taped.

When the price difference is less than 10% or $100 I would say go with the brand your more comfortable with. With this level of price difference it first behooves you to ask VM if they will even adjust their pricing downward.

$367 is a little extreme of a difference in the components you listed.
