OK, this is a EXTREMELY stupid question:

I am looking into buying a WD MyBook Pro Edition 1TB drive

I want to be able to interchange it between my Windows PC and my Mac G4. Will that cause any problems with using it between both systems? I mean, I know I won't be able to run programs or windows files, but I want to be able to share my media files, such as movies and MP3s.

My guess is it would work with both with no problems, just want to confirm this before I spend $400+ on a hard drive

Just be aware of file size limits with Fat 32 and make sure it won't be a problem.

It maybe easier to leave it on one or the other computer and just share it via your network.

XP and OS X network very well together.

If you install MacFUSE and NTFS-3G; OS X will have read and write support to NTFS drives, except you won't be able to transfer compressed volumes, zip, rar, etc..; iso is fine though.

Yeah, remember the Fat32 limitations of any single file you're working with, over 4GB.

Otherwise you can have a 1TB folder filled with as many files, each up to the individual limit, as you like.

If you have personal DVDR's - I found that it's easy to keep the original TS file structure instead of an image or RAR's. As media players can play the file structure like a normal DVD, and it's ready to burn to DVD straight away without having to decompress before hand.

Hope we all helped.
