Hi Everyone,

I got a ABS mechanical keyboard and the space bar is sticking. It will register presses however it it much stiffer that the rest of the keys. It needs to be oiled i think, however I am unsure what oil to use. Do i need to rip the space bar off to oil or disassemble the board?

Thanks!

there is actually a tool for prying off keyboard caps, but since you probably don't have it any thin piece of metal or maybe a screwdriver will work. The spacebar is a pretty big key, it likely also has a large metal spring outside the key cap that helps stabilize it. it will probably be tricky to put back in. anyway after removing it you can probably remove the mechanical switch also. it is likely dirty and should probably not need lubrication aside from cleaning.
