what brand will give me most reliability???

First id give some input bout myself and my hardware i guess:

i wanna plug in that damn thing and want it to work flawlessly ... i wont OC further unless its necessary,
i hate noisy cards ...i rather have 5% less performance instead of noisy fan(s)

these are my research options im looking into
(never had an EVGA card ...i would get this from my sister in the US)

I have this Gigabyte:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125423

Zero problems since install with anything Gigabyte related. I run triple monitors off of it, which should provide plenty of opportunity for issues, but I haven't seen any yet. At least, no issues, that aren't a product of the limitation of a 2GB 670.

It stays cool and the sound of its fans don't exceed that of my case, for whatever that's worth.

i looked up the Galaxy card too but its 8+6pin setup combined with poor costumer support ive read on various forums left me cold for that card.
dont get me wrong im sure yours is giving you an a plus performance ,,,but i need to go with a brand that wont most likely give me troubles in the 1st place

@spugm
yeah i heard a lot bout the gigabyte version of the 670.
yet i need to hear something like "served well for 1 year and continue to do so"
and those 3 fans...whats the need of that(the more on it , the more somethings gonna fail in my xp)
but thank you for the suggestion i appreciate it .

There's an active Galaxy Rep on this forum. If you ever have any issues, I would contact him. He seems to be very concerned with helping users out.

I've not purchased a Galaxy card yet, but I would definitely consider buying from them were I to buy a Geforce card.

EVGA has always been great for me. Anytime I've had an issue, they've done their best to fix it.

Of the 3 cards you have listed, the ftw sig2 should be the quietest. The vanilla (reference) 670 was a bit loud for me, and the same thing applies with the twin frozr (currently run a 7950 twin frozr).

ive read in maximum pc and pc gamer that teh msi twin frozer is teh shit......and teh gigabytes also.......

considering your writing talents im suprised that you can grasp conclusions of any hardware reviews .
well maybe you had one too much...youre forgiven for providing zero input

Ok lets forgett my choices here>
Lets do it like this

Long time reliability
rock solid (stole that from asus hahaha)
makes me 90% smile and happy

Gigabyte windforce 3x and ftw sig2 670, pick and choose between those two. Both will make you very happy.

for quiet and reliable, I would say Asus. For the warranty, I would say Zotac.

I would suggest this GTX 670:

Just last week I purchased (2) of the Asus GTX 680 DirectCU II TOP cards and so far, I really like them. But no opinion on long term reliability yet. If you want a quiet card I suggest you read up and save up for a TOP. I will say that these are the first Asus cards I've ever purchased but these cards are built like tanks and look absolutely amazing. They are very large cards, taking up 3 rear slots. But I find that it is a great single card solution. Maybe other TOP owners will chime in.

I didn't have the best of luck with Galaxy cards, but the forum rep has been very attentive and answered all my questions in a timely manner.

I only have experience with the EVGA cards, in particular the 670sc and the 670ftw. I had the 670sc since shortly after release and it was a solid card. I recently put a full cover block on it and noticed a whine that I couldn't hear before because of how high the fan had to be while folding/gaming. I rma'd it and got my replacement which was the FTW. The very first thing I thought when I booted up was that the fan wasnt spinning, but it indeed was and was doing a much better job. Now I can run everything with a maxfan speed of 60-65% and I have never gotten it past the 65c mark. I can't speak for the custom cooler cards like the gigabyte or the asus but if quiet is whatyou want, I would say you ccan't go wrong with the FTW.

All of those cards besides the MSI PE and the Asus are reference boards, some with and some without the reference cooler. There will be no difference in reliability, only in warranty service should you need it. EVGA has great service, so does Galaxy. I've never had a problem with MSI, and I've only tried to RMA an Asus card once and its still in my closet broken so that tells you how well it went.

The cooler on that card looks similar to the one found in the gainward phantom. I have my eyes on that card, but the warranty part is what drives me away.

When I bought them, the linked website wasn't up. It looks like sparkle is ramping-up US support. I bought a Zotac when they first started-up. Bought the super-cheap 8800 GTX (at the time) they were selling. They RMA'd flawlessly.

I'm not worried about it.

The ironing is strong with this one.

^This. I was one of the lucky ones to snag a card during Galaxy's big giveaway here. While I love my Gigabyte 670, no one from Gigabyte, or any company for that matter, sent me emails making sure I was happy with the card I just got for free. If customer service is big for you, and you continue to be a member of the [H]ard|Forums, then Galaxy is your best bet.

I've also been looking at nvidias for an upgrade. I have always had evgas (my ancient 260 is still going strong after half a decade) and through the years their support has never let me down. However, seriously looking at the Galaxy cards as I see their rep is fairly active here and seems to go the extra mile to help out. Biggest problems I've read with Galaxy are getting your rebates and coil whine.

My question is, at 1440p, how would the 650ti Boost in sli compare to a single 670? Seeing as how price would be close to the same.

I don't have a 1440p display to test, but at 1080p a pair of 650 Ti Boosts ran slightly faster than a single GTX 680 for me. They overclocked extremely well, and with some tweaking they beat the single 680 by out 20%. My final score with OC in 3dmark11 was X3922. I was pretty impressed by the fact that the bottom card didn't exceed 72C on default fan profile even with the other card 1mm apart on top of it. It's just about the coldest running SLI setup you can get.

Wow that is pretty nice for how relatively inexpensive they are. I'm just wondering if the lower bandwidth will start limiting the cards at ultra high resolutions. Impressive temps too.

Apologies, not trying to derail the thread. But I do believe that 650 ti boost sli'd is a serious competitor to a single 670 @1080p at least for possibly less money.

I've always stuck to EVGA. I have a EVGA 6800 GT that I purchased back in 2004 that still runs today.

In regards to Galaxy, you are not going to get better support. (At least in my experience.)

EVGA and Galaxy are neck and neck for customer support in my experience. I love them both.

Get the Galaxy GC (two fan) model. I was going to get it but got an MSI Twinfrozer Power Edition for less. I am enjoying the MSI, no issues and is still rather cool. No coil whine, ect.

Noise wise it is getting up to 79F in my room now, and my MSI went up to 52% fan speed in Crysis 3 with temps getting up to 70C. it was hardly audible, though I imagine it will climb to 60% in the summer. In which case it will be noticeable, but not that loud compared to reference coolers.

EVGA is over priced, and if your card is damaged out of the box they will only send you a used replacement. IMO, their warranty is not that good so buy it from Amazon in case it is damaged. But again, I'd look to MSI or Galaxy as they are cheaper.
