If I were to get a firewire external hard drive enclosure for a 3.25" HD....would the firewire port have enough power to be self-powered so I wouldn't have to use a power brick?
 
I have a few external firewire drives and all require a power brick. I've done research on good external FW enclosures and have personally not seen one that is self powered off the FW cable. If there is one none of the 20 or so I read reviews on had that ability. Do make sure to read the reviews on them prior to purchasing one though as some have buggy controller chips.
