Well this rig was supposed to be up and running months ago, but now after undergoing some changes and a lot of waiting here it is. Specs are in sig. Keep in mind that all the benches are run with defective mushkin memory, so they will be a LOT better when the RMA comes in.

I'm also gonna throw some watercooling on the cards shortly.

I'm just so impressed with this AMD chip. Coming from a 4ghz p4, it's like night and day. I can notice a difference multitasking, but its not bad at all; like an extra 3 seconds to alt tab out to something or to unzip a file while installing something. Needless to say, it kills the p4 in gaming.

Damn this has been a good week :D
 
Nice setup. Want to see pics once you get the water cooling and phase change in there.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, it's still running great except for some serious weirdness with the TCCD chips on this board. Thinking of going OCZ vx4000....only think holding me back is loyalty to Mushkin.

I didn't get a chance to order the phase change kit yet, actually you know what, I'm going to go do that now :D


And for those wondering, this is my primary machine while my secondary machine which I'm piecing together will look like this (this is where the GT comes in):

DFI NF4 UT board
another 3200+ (better overclocker will go in primary)
evga 6800gt
pcp&c 510 deluxe
1GB Corsair ram
ati tv tuner card
2x 250 , 2x 80GB , 1x 120gb, 1x160gb hard drives

That one is more for video editing and storage, with the GT so my friends can still game over the LAN when they come over. It's all parts I have laying around except chip, mobo, and psu so its not as expensive as it sounds.

So no, I'm not using 3 ultra's in one rig.

ANYways, extremely nice rig, although it isn't for me, SLI is still pretty sweet looking.

Also, what kind of phase change is that? and how much was it?

high. they idle around 60c and load into the 80's. That's why I'm going water, dont feel safe overclockign otherwise even though I bench @ 460/1200 :)

when I get them on water I will bios flash them to 1.5v to probably get around 500 core. IF that doesn't get me there, I will hard mod them to 1.6v. One way or the other I will get a 500mhz SLI setup :eek:

What speed is your processor running at. I've got a similar machine, and you've got 1000 3D Mark points on me. Although I'm just running at stock GT speeds, the 71.84 drivers don't let me overclock my cards. Newer drivers that did broke several of my games.

just load up riva tuner and and enable overclocking; will unlock the options; doesn't matter what drier version.
 
banging out a deal for the parts as we speak, just answered a pm. My bh5 memory is arriving tomorrow according to tracking (ready to shove 3.9v up it) and phase change kit is shipped according to hardwaregods.net tracking :D

Decided to go aquacomputer for the watercooling, its just too beautiful not to.

3.9V on an Athlon64? Better pray that God is in your graces when you try that :p Onboard memory controllers aren't big fans of that much voltages....and zap goes a good CPU.
 
I've already used 3.8v on TCCD :p Now that's crazy!

I forget whym but I remember reading something about how for some reason they don't die with high volts recently; maybe soemthing to do with the way the board provides volts maybe?

After all, the OCZ vx memory is designed for a64 and supposed to be run @ 3.65v...
 
You'll definitley want to look into getting some aftermarket HSFs for the GPUs, those things are getting practically no air as they are now.

tsuehpsyde thought you were talking about the Athlon 64 3200+, not your RAM. Athlon 64 90nm Winchester cores dont respond well to voltage much over 1.55-1.6V.

No, I was thinking about the memory CONTROLLER inside the Athlon64's (winnies, newcastles, clawhammers, whatever). The voltage increase in the memory can, and has, fried countless CPUs because of the memory controller being IN the CPU. Use the search button and see what you find.

I love when people jump in the middle of something and know exactly what's going on in someone's brain, when it was clearly stated once. Yeah, 3 volts in a CPU, yeah okay. :rolleyes:
 
instead of the DFI mobo i went with the MSI K8N NEO4 SLI PLT. I have a 6800 U and i am planning to SLI it before summer time. And getting a water cooling kit. Lettme see some pics when you get your setup done. I was thinkin of danger den because of their quality. but not sure because sli setups are tricky with watercooling
