Able to use without fan base?

I have a thermaltake xaser III super tower. im doing all UV and the fan base for the side shown here (pictures from newegg.com)

is just getting in the way of the veiw. now i have been looking at it and have been wondering if somone has taken this out (its very eas just pop it out) and mounted the fans to the window. if somone has dont this please tell me how and post pictures.

also on my dfi motherboard it has those red led lights on it. is there anyway i can disable them?

i dont want to do anything that wont void the warenty. is there a way i can do it in the bios or somthing?
 
electrical tape should come off easily for you to reclim your warranty. just a little square
