After about 3 months of being stumped by my boards unique overclocking dilema I decided to put some time into it and try to fix it. I was tired of seeing my Opty being wasted at default speeds, I finally decided to screw around with my memory and bumped the voltage to 2.2v to see what it would do. I was then able to raise my FSB higher than 220 (YAY!), so after finagling with my FSB I was able to achieve 300fsb. I'm currently sitting pretty at 2.7ghz 300x9 1.35v. I was able to achieve 275x10 at 1.35v, 1.40, and 1.45v but I couldn't get my pc to boot with my CPU at 2.8ghz no matter the voltage (granted I didn't go higher than 1.45). I'm going to test to see what my max bootable FSB is tonight as well as order a Silverstone Nt06. I would apply some arctic silver to my stock AMD heatsink but by the time it cures my Nt06 should be here. I'll also finally get some pics of my Qmicra build up on here and on the pcdlabs forums after I get my Nt06 installed and find my max comfortable OC.

I mainly posted this to inform everyone that has seen me post about my issues with my NF-M2. (as far as oc'ing) That I'm extremely pleased and would purchase this mobo again, and I am looking to get another Abit once the Barcelona is released.

I may also be buying an x2 3600+ just to screw around with after I get my Nt06 and what not. Thanks for reading, this thread will be updated with pictures and OC results soon, as well as some Stability testing on the CPU and Memory as I have not done that yet. I wanted to wait till I recieved my Nt06 and put some artic silver on. Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it lol.

**EDIT: After fussing with this for a while, I've come to the conclusion that my max FSB so far is 305. The Max I can take my chip is 279x10 1.35v 3xHT. I wasn't able to push my FSB to 280 no matter the voltage. I tried 1.40v/1.45v (didn't want to go any higher as the nfm2 overvolts a bit). The question I have for you is do you think that some Arctic Silver and a Nt06 would help me achieve 280+FSB.

I'd also like to know what would be better 300x9 1.35v 3xHT or 279x10 1.35v 3xHT? I know the first setup is 90mhz faster but I have read that a higher FSB makes the cpu and mobo communicate faster which helps out.

Is my ram the reason I can't boot past 305fsb? My RAM Thank You For Reading, I am hoping to recieve some valuable input.

My personal experience with overclocking the NF-M2 are awesome. With one stick of memory, that is.

With one stick of memory, I've hit 340HTT with EASE. 340 * 8 = 2720 on a Sempron 3000. However, as soon as I insert another bank of memory, it ceases to push even at 270 * 8. I'm thinking that it is a weak chipset issue or something, that it cannot handle the extra stick of RAM or something. I've tried nearly everything I can think of, but nothing has worked. It simply doesn't want to work as fast with two sticks of ram versus one stick of ram.

Wouldn't this be a Sempron problem because the memory controller is on the processor?
I really like this board though. I can hit 2.9Ghz on my Opty 1210. I'm running 300 * 9 currently. I also ran it at 350 * 8 for a while and it worked great.

Hmm.. perhaps you are correct. However, my friend running on a X2 3600+ has the same issue.. great overclocks with one stick of RAM, not so good with two.

Well, are you running a proper divider? The DDR2-400 divider, try that first.
