I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out what is what in my mobo bios memory timing options.

Can someone can match these abbreviations: tRP, tRAS, Trcd

to these labels that appear in my BIOS:

Row to Active Delay
RAS to CAS Delay
Row to Precharge Delay

I have spent the last 4 hours on google and adrians rojak pot, and I cannot seem to prove to myself what is what. Sure would be nice if all the bios's out there could use a standardized naming scheme. Would make things a hell of a lot easier.

When dealing with memory timings, you generally don't need to remember the meanings of the tRas, etc...

Just reference your memory type and discuss with other people what timings work for them...

Also, experimenting on your own (2-3-3-6 vs. 3-8-8-10) helps a lot more than looking up the technical definition of a cas delay.

Now I see how some people up their post count. *sigh*

I made this post VERY simple. ONE question, and one request for help.

Match abreviations, to items that appear in the bios. I do not wish to hear someones opinion that I "do not need to know"

my question still stands. Thanks in advance for those able to help.

Edit: Shit I messed them up, now I'm all mixed up :( . Sorry. Someone clear this up.

Fill it in as follows:

2.5

on the memory timings on the advanced chipset page.

So:

Row to Active Delay = tRP
RAS to CAS Delay = tRAS
Row to Precharge Delay = Trcd

?

in all of the [H]ard... there is not one of you that knows memory terminologies????
