Thinking about getting a Qpack, but since I have a spare 754 CPU and 9600XT I want to go 754. I havent been too happy with the motherboards I been looking at though. Id like something I can OC with and its just not much out there.

I know some guys are getting ok overclocks on KV8 Pros so I was thinking maybe buy a KV-80 and try flashing the bios to a KV8 Pro and see if that would work. The only difference I see between the chipsets is the onboard video. Differences on the motherboard arent that much that I can see, 4 less USB ports, maybe thats it.

I know some guys that flashed their sb61g2 bios with the sb65's to get rid of the onboard video when it caused trouble with their OC's and that worked out ok. But I dont know about this. Think im nuts? Or give it a shot? Wont be for another couple weeks if I do.

just cuase it worked that way for one board doesnt mean its going to do the same thing on another

for example, there is no way i would flash my KM133 board (with video) with a bios from a KT133 (no video) that was otherwise the same. its just a bad idea...

You are right, they are hard to find.

With the flashing.....just order a new BIOS for your board from the manu. and if it goes wrong, you simply replace the Bios chip with the new one you got.
