Abit IS7-E temperature issues

Hello all. I recently bought a Swiftech MCX478-V sink with thermaltake UFO fan (81 CFM) running on a p4 2.6C. It seems odd because i just applied AS5 and it seems that my temps are kind of high running about 34-35 idle -- maybe not idle but leaving my cpu untouched in windows. Is that normal or is there something wrong.

I have a 2.4C, swiftech mcx478 and UFo also. My temps as per speedfan are approximatly

Oc at 240fsb.
Ufo=2250-2300 rpm.
Idle=22-26C
Load= 39-41C (p95 + cpuburn it)

I was getting close to 49C with my volts at 1.6V ram @ 2.9V and agp at 1.65V @ 250 fsb.

I ditched the chrome ring from the ufo and it dramatically lowered the turbulence noise. I can't start to hear it until it gets to 2200 or so ( louder case fan on side panel). I also kept the 80mm arms and used the spacer with the ufo, i was hoping it would lift it high enough to help with the dead spot in the middle of the fan.

How is your airflow? How many case fans do you have and what is their setup? Is it the latest bios on mobo? what program are you reporting with?

It is possible to have applied too little and/or too much AS5.

p.s. I did lose the silver trim, i tried cutting some of the bars away, but it looked like @$$ and didn't help the sound.

I will give that a shot. I never thought about the deadspot. And it is true that the fan is literally touching the middle of the sink.

I think i applied the as5 correctly because i applied a blot (b-b size) onto the cpu.

I was wondering about cutting off the Chrome parts. how about the top.
Do you think that will affec ti as well? lke a layer up from the part tou cut off.

I would just take it off. The chrome flakes off and you see the beige plastic, it really is ugly. It would help though. If you still have your spacer give that a shot to.
