Abit IP35 (Bearlake)

Don't know but remember that it's a beta.
Strange thing is that at least 1 person has reported that whilst his optical disappeared from the BIOS it was still there & perfectly functional (he could burn etc.) in Windows :confused:
 
Nothing I'd like to try with the board is so pressing I can't wait for that particular page from David Copperfield's book to be ironed out. :p
 
Rather strange question, but if anyone knows the answer, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Does the optical in port on the IP35 Pro accept 5.1 sound? Some older Abit mobos only seem to take in stereo 2-channel sound through the port so I was wondering if it'd be the same with the IP35 Pro. Secondly, can that sound source be ouputted through the 5.1/7.1 analog ports?

Basically what I'm asking is whether I can make the IP35 Pro act as an audio receiver :eek: It'd save me a lot of trouble if this actually works :D
