I'm experiencing screwy behavior with hibernation on my new PC (Abit IC7-MAX3 mobo, P4-3.0, 1GB PC3500 RAM, ATI Radeon 9800 XT, Antec TrueBlue480 PS, WinXP Pro SP-1).
It hibernates as instructed per my power settings, then obediently awakens in the middle of the night to perform scheduled tasks (disk defrag, virus scan). It also sometimes awakens spontaneously with no stimulus from any scheduled task, but that's something I have yet to research further. In either case, however, it then fails to return to hibernation. In addition, it appears that the CPU continues to run at the degraded hibernation speed as selected in the BIOS (50% of normal). I have to reboot to get things back in order. Any ideas?
