Abit An8-32x build database

just got one to replace a dead ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe.

Everything installed really nicely with no issues.

Only concern is that the temp for the PWM is very high (usually mid to upper 50's C) The CPU and system temps are all in line low 30's idle to mid 40's load.

Oh, also the the PCI-Ex for the vid cards are very close together. I have a single 7900GTX and am considering a second in the future and it looks like a second card would only be a couple millimeters from the first. I dont know if that will cause airflow issues for the first card.

Other then that... working great with my FX-60 OC'd to 2.8 (14x200).

The AN8-32x From Abit is one of the best I have see from abit for AMD chips so far. You might have a problem with memory slots and that is cause by the cpu. I was runnig a single core cpu chip 3200 and it would only let me put memory in slots 1 & 3. When I put in 2x cpu 3800 than I could us all 4 slots with no problems. Before I got the 2x chip I was running Crucial 2GB(2x1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel in slots 1 & 3 with no problems. This is the only problem that I ran into so far. It's been runing now for about 15 weeks none stop. On 24hrs a day 7 days a week with no problems. Between two video cards about a little more than an inch from fan to the other card.

AN8-32x AMD 64x2 3800+ W / Stock Fan

I just Check Temps. I have always ran stock fans on all CPU's that I have ever ran and never had any problems in ten yrs of building computers. That is AMD and Intel. I'm not into OC my systems I feel if you can run the game that out there, than that is good for me without burning up your system.

SYS 37c - 98F

PROBLEMS DURING BUILD:
1) After installing all drivers, Device Manager still reported Unknown Device.
2) Uninstalled chipset drivers trying to fix the Unknown Device problem, lost "nvcchflt.sys" and system would not boot into Windows.
3) Serious Sam 2 crashes within 30seconds to an hour of playing.

SOLVED PROBLEM BY:
1) Unknown Device was the "uGuru" garbage from Abit, installed program, Unknown Device was installed, uninstalled uGuru and device reports "Unable to load drivers", reinstalled software again and just disabled on startup.
2) Downloaded (if you need a copy pm me) and used recovery console to replace file.
3) Unresolved

CURRENT STATUS:
Prime95 solid on both cores 24 hours (small fft) with 3dMark 2001 demo looped.
3) Serious Sam 2 still crashing.

I only installed the chipset, network, and sound drives. If you install the SW-IDE drive and the firewall it might cause problems.

I think serious sam 2 is just buggy, My mouse goes out of control with view and I have used 3 different ones with it.
