Hi,

As the title says I have an abit airpace wireless card. it was working fine for awhile but now for some reason when i go to disable the card the whole computer just locks up. cant move the mouse ... cant bring up task manager.

I haven't made any hardware changes at all and the specs of my rig are in my signature.

Also, for some reason it seems to randomly be dropping the internet connection despite having an excellent signal. When i go to repair connection and reset the wireless card it has to disable it and this results in a total lock up.

I've confirmed that it is the disabling step that freezes the computer not the enabling.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Try a BIOS update on the mobo?
Which PCI slot is the airspace in? 2nd PCI slot from the top is a standard for NICs. Although that was prior to APIC standards..as the top PCI slot often shared an IRQ with the vid card...but since APIC..with much improved (and more IRQs) sharing..shouldn't be the issue.
