For me, any tv that makes normal tv, look like crap is a good thing, as I want the best possible HDTV picture, and not some analog upload. Thats why the Sony Bravia's are a step under the Samsung, you were looking at IMO.
The Sony line, does a good job at showing SD cable, which is normal cable, yet you have the LCD screen, for gaming, etc etc. You can get one 40 inch, for the same price as the Samsung you saw.
