Whats the Diff from 2x or 2xS?

is 2xS better or worse than 4x ?

whats better to Run:

2xS AA, 8 AF Best Quality (Running this now)

or say

4x, 8 AF , Quality ?

os NO AA and 16AF? etc... not sure, looking for the best image, with consitant, stable FPS

Ii dont care about 110 fps, long as i stay around 60 im happy, system specs are below

As for what reviews say is a crock, i sure cant have CS:S run 1280x1024 @ 16af an 8x AA smooth... ps 1280x1024 is the rez i always run

The facetious answer is that the best setting is the one you're happy with where you can't see jaggies and your fps remains high.

Steer clear of 8xSAA - it looks stunning, but stuffs up the frame rates something rotten in recent games.

4x is usually always better than 2xS because the blurring effect is reduced dramatically. 4x uses up a lot more performance however. 2xS is supposed to look as good but it didn't to me.

The "S" means that it's super-sampled, as apposed to multi sampled, this gives better image quality, but at the cost of a large performance hit. The 8xAA is a combination of 4xAA and 2xS AA it might look nice but it seems that it takes a huge hit in performance.
