AA/AF settings using CCC

Hi all

I just recently acquired an ATI X1950 Pro and seem to be having trouble getting the AA and AF settings working in my games. I have the AA set to 2X and the AF set to 4X, but none of my games look like the AA and AF are set.

I have disabled any in game settings for AA/AF. Particularly, in FS2004, it is really bad when using these settings as opposed to ingame settings.

I haven't had a Radeon in a long time, so if someone can help me with this problem, that would be great. Maybe I am not choosing the right types of AA/AF from the control panel?

Thanks!

Do you have high-quality AF turned on? Also temporal AA only works with a framerate above 60FPS, so best not to use that if you can't get that framerate.

I did a new install converting to a 5600+ and ddr2, and I used 7.4 with CCC. I'd used the stock ATI control panel held over from 6.8 up until this install.

Forcing AA/AF with CCC simply had no affect. It seems to be broke.

I killed off CCC and reinstalled the straight CP from 6.8 and all is well again. My AA/AF settings are in effect again.

Weird.

Same thing here. Using Cat 7.4 and forcing HQAF 16x with CCC has no effect. It has nothing to do with a specific game and/or ingame settings. I am using CCC to set AF for GTR2. This is the only way to do this, GTR2 doesn't have ingame settings to set AF and runs with trilinear filtering. Without 16x AF this game is ...unplayable.

The only solution I found is to use Cat 7.1 with CCC . Forcing AF with CCC IS WORKING!
Haven't tried 7.2 or 7.3 .

Card is X1900XTX , OS Win XP SP2.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I had heard both good and bad about the CCC just before I switched to Nvidia.

It is disheartening to see that things may not be fixed after all.
