Hey guys, I just set this up and was wondering if anyone can help me? Yeah its a little old, its suppose to tie over over until Windows 7 is out.

So I set this up last night and is having a little problem getting over 270FSB. The computer posts, boots, and primes fine at 265FSB and stock voltage. When I get to 270, it won't post reliably, it'll post maybe once out of 3 times I try. When I do post and get into Windows, it primes fine and stable.

I tried upping the voltage on the CPU and upping the voltage on the Northbridge, it helped a little but still doesn't post reliably. I was fooling around with the settings so I know the CPU is stable up 290FSB if it does post and gets into Windows.

My settings right now is:

CPU ~1.4V(that's what CPUZ tells me anyways, the voltages jump around a lot on this board)
memory divider 133
last stable FSB is 260
HT is running at 6x
NB voltage is 1.6(opposed to 1.5)

I'm running a new PSU with it right now, a BFG GS-550, should be more than adequate. Otherwise everything else is same as in my sig.
Can anyone help me hit 2.9Ghz or even 3.0?

I've managed to get over the posting problem. Now I have a second problem. The computer runs fine, but ethernet seems to be corrupting itself. I can't get anything off the net right now at a higher FSB.
 
Isn't the HT too high, 6 x 270? Shouldn't be over 1000 right? I forget.
 
Sorry I meant 3x. The BIOS settings said 600Mhz so in reflex I thought it was 6.

What ethernet port are you using? I always had corruption downloading stuff with the nvidia lan controller, switching to the marvell lan port that I had on my NF3/NF4 boards would clear up that problem.
 
Just to report in, I actually did not solve the posting problem, the mobo just decided to play nice for a few times and now its back to shoddy posting, maybe once out of three times.

ballistic: My board only has a Marvell Gbit lan onboard connected by PCIe 1x. So far is the result I get from testing.
FSB270: corrupted images
FSB280: corrupted images and formatting
FSB290: dropping of pages altogether
FSB300+: it simply won't connect anymore

So now back to square one, how do I get the board to post at FSB270 and above? or is this a lost cause?

PS: One more thing, I'm not sure if it would be related or not. The board is a little iffy around the 260-270 range, it won't generate the clock I set it as. Regardless of what I set the clock as it will drop to around 258-260FSB. The board is currently set to run at FSB265, but it only gives me 258-260 real clock. Anything above 270 or below 260 its completely fine.
 
The lan problem might be a lack of a pcie lock. When you raise the fsb the pcie freq goes up with it. See if you can set the pcie freq to 101.
 
I enabled the PCIe lock already at 100mhz. It doesn't seem to be working though.
 
why dont you just buy a PCI Gigabit ethernet controller? that would solve your issues with that.

These chips hit 2.8 if you're lucky. That's with a really good motherboard too! Feeding more voltage shouldn't help.

I'm eyeing one of those A8N-SLi Deluxe one of the guys are selling here, he hasn't replied me yet... Hopefully that will bring me where I want to go. I think I have concluded this board won't hit more than 265FSB.
