Hey,
I am about to buy the Asus A8N Motherboard, still not sure if i should take the normal one or the deluxe Edition. Either way I don't know yet which ram i should buy. One issue seems to be the compatibility. Asus published the comp. list, but that list differs from the list which is provided in the manual. There are three categories. A, B and C. The Corsair Value Select Ram is compatible in the comp list in all these categories. But in the manuel Cat. B is not checked. So I am a little confused which list is correct. Anyone of you uses the Corsair Value Select Rams ( 2x512) in Dual Channel configuration?
Another question for me is the speed. Are the Corsair XMS Series really much faster than the Value Select ones or the normal Kingston modules? The XMS are 80 Euros expansiver than the Value Select version. Perhaps you got an benchmark because i didnt find one.
Is the XMS Series only interesting for overclockers because I dont want to overclock my box.
The rest of my system specs is. Athlon 64 3500+, Leadtek GF 6800.
What do you think is the best decesion to make? Should i spend some extra money on the XMS or just buy the normal Corsair or Kingston modules? Is the XMS series 100% compatible with that board?
Thank you for your help.
