A75 Adapter Question

I just got a a75 a few days ago and was wondering whats the best option as far as an adapter tube to get is. I saw canon sells one that is 37mm on their website but i hear its plastic and black i would like something better.

Ebay sells 37mm and 52mm adapters and was wondering which is the best choice for an novice photographer, i just want an adapter for uv/polarize filters and maybe a wideangle lens in the future. Should i go for the 37mm or 52mm and which one of the ones listed in auctions seems the best to you guys.

I do have a OLD SLR camera lying around and it has lens' galore, some really good tele, macro, wide lenses and uv, polar, cross filters, it is at my dads house right now so i dont know the size of them, is there a standard mm size for SLRs? if so would they fix on my a75 with the 52mm adapter? I will check their size next week when i pay him a visit but i just wanted to know if they would fit, since i wouldnt have to buy anything but the adapter and i would have all the lenses adapters i need.

Every lens is different. I have 3 different sized filters (52/55/67)on 4 different lenses. Of the two sizes listed, 52mm is the more common for SLR lenses. I think the 37s were used on rangefinder cameras and some 8mm/super 8mm film cameras (yes, home movies used to be shot on film).

most lenses I see for my Canon A75 are 37mm

the filters I bought were all 37mm
