I have a neo2 platinum MSI board along with some PC3500 Kingston HyperX and an athalon 64 XP3200 90nm socket 939 processor. I wanted to give him a hand overclocking but was curious what ppl are getting out of these things. What should be a reasonable number I can hit and does this board have any pci/agp locks on the frequency or are they going to go up as the bus speed goes up. I am cooling it with an XP90 thermalright heatsink and a 90mm panaflow 47cfm fan. Thanks for any input.
 
The Oc will depend on how well the CPU will scale as not all cpus will do the same. Next is dependant on the production date on the motherboard. The Neo2 is a great board for the A64 ocing deed but boards that are made 11/04 are better then earlier production dates. They use less voltage to get higher Oc. As well as an improved northbridge. The AGP?PCI locks do work In the cell menu settings in bios set the AGP freq to 67 and this will lock them down. Besure tu adjust down the HTT multi as you increase FSB. The total HTT speed should nt exceed 1000. Not realy any big wack to performance by having it lower. I run mine HTT @ 3X with a FSB of 270 to 295. giveing me a HTT speed of 810 to 885. Becasue the Multi is locked from going upwards you will need to run the FSB up and Decrease the Multi for the cpu to get your overclock. You will also have to increase Vcore as well to obtain stability. WATCH TO NOT GO TO HIGH!!!!!! and WATCH YOUR TEMPS!!!!! Ther are 2 ways to increase vcore one is by the Vcore value. Like mine stock is 1.5v I can with the latest OEM bios go up to 1.55V. Then you can also from that point increase the percent over that setting just below the Vcore setting. 5%, 8.3% and 10% wich will add even more all the way up to 1.7v. There are Modded and betta Bios's out there for the Neo2 that will allow even more as well as some hidden functions. Not real familar with the Kingston ram you have or its capabillities but timings can range anywhere from 2-2-2-5 to 2.5-4-4-8 and even more laxed timings. I run my Gskill at 2.5-3-3-7 and @ 1T. You have the option to switch to a 2T but I would recomend keep it at a 1T at all possible as the performance hit is large. But good luck and remember Ocing is @ your own risk..

and anymore is better. and 20% or more is Awesome!!!! ;)
