I have the following setup.

A64 3000+ s939 1.525v FSB 250MHZ HTT 4 clocked @ 2250MHZ approx.
K8N Neo2 Platinum 1.4 bios
Gigabyte 3d rocket cooler pro
1gb (2X512) Geil Ultra PC4000 running @ 2.5-3-3-7-1T

I cannot get the machine to boot beyond 255FSB. No matter the HTT multi setting.

I set HTT to 3 Multiplier to 9 Ram timings to 3-4-4-8-1T, I even tried 2T.

Anytime I go beyond 255FSB I get a lock on boot. It seems there is a partial bios load. getting like half the screen.

Does this sound like Ram to you? Being the relative OC n00b that I am I cannot seem to find the memory divider. I would assume that running 5:6 divider would tell me if it is the ram if I can then go beyond 255 and still get a good boot?

If this PC4000 platinum will not run OC a few MHZ it is a colossal waste of cash.

Thanks for your patience

I figured something out.

I am now running 2.430 mem div 166 270FSB vdimm 2.75 vcore 1.525 mem 220.9

I think this proc may be capable of 2.5 but not sure.

Running prime now been running for 1 hour load temp 52c

Do I have more overhead or should I look for better cooling before going further?

I have looked at the guide and cannot seem to find definative temperatures anywhere as far as maximums that should be avoided.

I was able to 3dmark 2001 at 23816 and 2003 at 11818

Another interesting question.

This is my current OC. The temps went DOWN?? when I went from 2430MHZ (270FSB) vcore 1.525 to 2520MHZ (280FSB) vcore 1.55.

Any idea whats up with that? Do I maybe have a wanky MB reporting incorrectly?

Does 2600 seem like a possible OC with this setup on air cooling??
