A3 Temps/Stability vs BigAdv

OK, so I got a semi decent OC to seem relatively stable on my first i7 box, I had to settle for 3.9 Ghz even tho thats half a gig lower than the last owner had this chip, but o well.Ran P95 stable for 2 hours on max heat/power draw setting, never topping 72*C

Anyways, I am back to trying the A3 units to complete my bonus requirements. Getting 3:20 TPF on a 6021 now, about 15k when I get the bonus.

What I'm curious to is if my temps and stability under A3 are reflective of what I'll see under BigAdv? Oobviously I have to let his rig run for a bit but once I hit 12 units I'm off to try my hand at big adv. Do you think I'll be keeping the same temps here as in bigadv? I'm hitting 64-68*C now, showing 99.5% load. Ambient in the room is 55* F

Can I expect the same in bigadv?

No, because bigadv uses more memory and uses it [H]arder, you can be A3 stable but not be bigadv stable. Temps might be 1 to 2C higher, if at all, with bigadv. Nothing to worry about if you are happy with the temps while folding A3.
 
As far as stability testing for folding rigs go, P95 doesn't come close to stressing the system hard enough compared to A3 and bigadv crunching. P95 for a few hours still gives a good baseline, but I've had 24 hour stable P95's fail 3% into bigadvs. If I was to rank hardness for stability testing of folding rigs, I'd said it'd have to be ordered like: P95, OCCT and/or Linpack, IBT, A3, and finally bigadv. I usually run 20 passes of Linpack using as much memory as I can and then dive straight into crunching an A3.
 
An A3 at -smp 8 is close temp-wise, but not quite the same as a -bigadv unit. A3's are what i have been using for mine, and as Tobit said, they will get you very close to what you will see running a -bigadv.
 
For an example, on my old ASRock board when I was doing initial testing, I had it A3 stable but it would fail bigadv within the first few steps. All it took to make it bigadv stable was one bump up on the Vcore and then it was set.

I was 24 hour P95 stable and still had to up the voltages more for stability. Big Adv needed more voltage than A3 for total stability.

 
So once I finish my A3 units should I bump up the voltage one click then try BigAdv? I'm at 4.3 (4.2 in windows) now, and if below 68 is a good high temp then I'm fine with that

Hope to have this unit up in the rack soon so I have room to build my next box already, gonna get my last 2 GX2's onboard for Operation: Catch Doozer (but don't tell anyone, its a secret op lol)

I'd leave it as is. Try bigadv with your current clock, if it bombs just bump up the vcore a notch.
