correct, those are dead pixels. i have a green stuck pixel and i barely notice it anymore, so more than likely with 24 inches of real estate, you'll lose them more and more often :p

my buddy showed me a fool-proof method for finding dead pixels:

Not sure if you've got dead pixels? Then take something like a hammer and tap the screen with a moderate force near what you suspect to be a dead pixel. Now you can easily compare the two to know for certain if those other pixels were "dead" or not.

...needless to say i was pretty pissed after he ran this test on my new 30" Apple Cinema display monitor.

You know what it's hard to say. On my old PC I have a 15" NEC LCD. I've had it for about 3 years now and the screen is perfect. No dead pixels have shown up yet. On the other had some here have said that after a week of usage their 2405 have developed dead pixels. I've had my 2405 for a week now and it's still dead pixel free. So I don't know what actually determines when a pixel will burn out.

lol.....sorry. lemme re-phrase. I meant that you'll notice the dead pixels less and less as you simply get used to it, hence losing the dead pixels. my bad..... :rolleyes:

Pixels will die over time. How long it takes before you get one cannot be predicted. For some it's within a week, for some it's over a year. Personally, if I dropped nearly $1000 I wouldn't mind sending it back for another in hopes of starting off with a dead pixel free screen. You got by with computers without a 24" screen for the longest time, what's another couple weeks.
