The only systems I've seen that can do a heterogeneous multipath solution for storage are IBM systems like AIX and I think z/OS.

I'm trying to do iSCSI + SAS HBA multipathing for an HA virtualization infrastructure (primarily server virt with a few VDI guests). The issue is I'm on like no budget and all I have for equipment are 3 teamed GbE PHYs + SAS card (with one port, of course) per server.

The only other option I see is salvaging my Inifiniband stuff and doing something crazy like multiple iSCSI links across it via IPoIB + MPLS.

Is my bank account going to get through this little project unscathed?

How do you expect to do iscsi (network) with sas (local?) as multipath?

I wonder if you can do some kind of cheap multipath with this:
