You can change the views in your control panel...just set it to 'oldest first' and it will start with the first post.
 
When viewing a forum, there is a column titled Last Post. If you click the little red arrow in that column next to the name of the last poster corresponding to the thread you would like to view, it will take you to the most recent post.
