Everest is a nice program.

It depends on the case and room temperature. In two different cases, one has my drives at close to 40C, while the other is mid-low 30s. As long as your drives aren't above 60C, you should be fine.

temps depend on case and cooling, in my file server drives don't go over 35C
speedfan is also decent for monitoring hdd temps
