If it say you can use it on your camera lenses, definitly you can use that on your lcd.

Absolutely....and I also recommend the cheap lcd cleaner spray from Office Depot for those times when it really gets dirty or you splash a few drops of soda on the screen. It won't harm any kind of screen coating no matter what some will try to tell you..

I can usually get away with just the dry cloth......unless the 9 year old gets finger prints on it

Reason # 42 why I will never buy a used laptop. :)

I use microfiber cloths on all my computer equipment, including my lcd's. You can get a bag of 25~30 at Costco or Sam's for about $10-$15.

I highly recommend that you do NOT get cheap microfiber cloths. I used the Costco ones to clean my windshield and it left the little fibers all over the glass. It took several washings and a rainy season to get rid of them.

Would a good chomois dunked in distilled water and rung out well work to clean lcd screens?

Do NOT use windex on coated screens, it slowly dissolves the coating. Of course you can feel free to do as you please.

joemama, do you know if the office depot screen cleaner is alcohol free? it doesn't say on the bottle.

office depot screen cleaner
I'm looking at the bottle...but unlike food products it doesn't have the ingredients. It says "oil free, wax free and non-streaking" and says it is made for antiglare and polarized screens. Works for me..

just go to lenscrafters and get their lens cleaning solution. It's reasonably cheap and works well.
