A worthwhile upgrade for $100 or so?

Unfortunately money is very tight right now and I just don't have much to spend.

I'm playing Warhammer Online at 1920x1200 with full AA and AF and it's certainly playable but it stutters a bit too much for my liking.

My current video care is a x1900xtx. Is there a worthwhile upgrade out there for around $100? An extra 20fps in warhammer would be nice. However I imagine that at my price point this may not be reasonable.

You could go for a 8800 GT if you're on budget, but I would aim for a 4850.

you can get a 4850 for about 140 if you look. I know the money tight situation but I would put off the upgrade then. you can get some cheap video cards but they usually have rebates and such (doesn't help you current situation) If you have the PSU you can probably pick up a used 8800GTX fairly cheap. I have seen a couple go for around 100 dollars.

I decided on a 9800GTX. But I wish I went with the ATI 4850. The the Nvidia card works in osx86 and the ATI card does not.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. The 4850 can be had for $115 AR.

I just grabbed an open box powercolor 4850 from the egg for $110 shipped. Threw it on as part of a cf rig - still not sure if it was worth the $ since so far it's just been a pain in my ass.

I think you could sell the x1900xtx on ebay | [H] f/s forum for ~$70 (I think) and easily pick up a 4850, and could even get a 4870 512mb, and if you wanted to spend ~$20 more could get the 1gb version (which I have and love).

I play Warhammer completely maxed (AA 24x and AF 8x) @ 1920x1200 and have been considering turning down a couple settings a tiny bit because I can notice a small amount of lag in huge fights in scenarios. I would definitely recommend the 4870 for WAR @ 24", and get the 1GB version if you can splurge a small amount more or can sell your x1900xtx for a little more.

What server do you play on btw? I play a Zealot on Skull Throne, name is Thzraek.
